Where is the site and what is currently located there?
The site is located to the north of York Road and is bounded by Bridges Court and the CandleMakers development. The northern edge of the site is 50m from the River Thames and York Gardens is located to the south of the site across York Road. The site is currently occupied by Barker and Stonehouse furniture warehouse.
Who owns the site?
The site is owned by Richard Simpson who was responsible for developing Price’s Court and Candlemakers and has owned the site for many years.
Who are the architects?
Squire and Partners; an award-winning architectural practice who have been designing and executing buildings on key sites in London and internationally for over 35 years.
What happened to the previous planning application for the site?
In 2012 a planning application for the demolition of the buildings at 100 and 110 York Road and the redevelopment of the site for a mix of residential units, retail and office space as well as a car showroom was turned down by Wandsworth Council.
What consultation have you carried out so far?
The development team has carried out a comprehensive public consultation process with the local community as well as local stakeholders and Wandsworth Council officers. A public exhibition to discuss the initial concept proposals and wider opportunities for the site was held in December 2014. A second public exhibition to display the latest proposals and how the local communities feedback had been taken on board was held in January 2016. Regular newsletters have also been issued to local residents up to date as the design proposals have evolved.
When will a planning application be submitted?
A planning application for the redevelopment of the site was submitted to Wandsworth Council in February 2017. The planning application can be viewed at Wandsworth Council's website www.wandsworth.gov.uk with the planning application reference: 2017/0745.
